About this event

COVID has affected the math skills of students. Engaging students with their basic facts and math skills doesn’t need to be complicated. Daryl Chichak, a STEM specialist, former Edmonton Catholic Schools science consultant, and Alberta Education Math Assessment Specialist, will share his expertise and passion for math education. Designed for grade 2-6 teachers or teachers in junior high who have students with poor math skills, this workshop will focus on the M in STEM - MATH!

Find out how to get students excited about math by building number sense through fun games that are engaging and motivating. You will be given (and using) a hands-on math materials kit during this session, which is included in the registration fee. Daryl will give you handouts and play games that will make the students improve their math skills while having fun. The math kit you receive has games like “24”, “Just Like”, “Krypto”, dice, multiplication dice games, a set of 8 card game instructions and a 21-pom-pom game. Be prepared to have fun!

The price is higher than our usual Teacher Workshops because a $20 kit (pictured below) is included for every teacher.
